Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is a multi‑clinic network offering integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty, and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to nearly 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and coach all medical clinicians—including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other licensed providers—at the assigned clinical site.
- Ensure adherence to MCC policies, procedures, clinical and operational workflows, and accepted standards of care; lead annual performance reviews for site medical providers.
- Maintain scope‑of‑practice compliance for all medical providers and ensure appropriate oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers.
- Partner with the Site Clinic Manager to develop and implement strategic priorities, operational goals, and staffing models that optimize patient access, efficiency, and care quality.
- Lead the implementation of a comprehensive clinical quality, risk management, and safety program at the site level.
- Monitor and ensure competency and professional conduct of all medical providers through MCC Provider Credentialing and Peer Review Policies.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure compliance with HRSA, FTCA, CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies; serve as primary contact for all clinical matters.
- Collaborate with operations leaders to ensure workflow contribution to efficient, high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
- Co‑ordinate site budget priorities, equipment needs, and service‑line modifications.
- Lead regular provider and clinical staff meetings focused on education, policy updates, compliance training, and quality improvement.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among clinical and operational staff.
- Provide evidence‑based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel consistent with specialty training (e.g., Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine).
- Conduct routine preventive care, acute and urgent care, and chronic condition management.
- Consult with advanced practice practitioners working under the clinic.
- Participate in quality management and peer review activities as assigned.
- Contribute to the development of health care services as a member of the primary health care team.
- Work a minimum of three (3) 4‑hour Saturday shifts per calendar year.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising Medical Director.
- Opportunity to conduct pediatric inpatient hospital rounds at Marin General Hospital based on need and interest.
- Available to respond to after‑hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of medical providers and key clinical staff; conduct interviews and ensure compliant HR processes.
- Onboard, train, and support staff development.
- Manage employee performance, communicate expectations, and provide timely performance feedback.
- Oversee time and attendance, approve timesheets and time‑off requests, and ensure payroll accuracy.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment by upholding MCC policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school; current California medical license and DEA certificate required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing primary care in a family or community health setting.
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting (FQHC experience preferred).
