As a Sales Engineer at Sendbird, you’ll be at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and customer engagement. You’ll partner closely with our Account Executives to help customers design, build, and scale their communication and AI agent strategies using Sendbird. You’re someone who thrives in discovery conversations, enjoys problem-solving with both developers and executives, and can clearly translate complex technical capabilities into real-world impact.
You’ll bring credibility in front of engineers, confidence in front of leaders, and curiosity in every interaction. Most of all, you’ll help our customers imagine what’s possible.
- Partner with Sales:
Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the deal cycle—joining calls, demos, and meetings to explore challenges, co-design solutions, and close deals together. - Lead Technical Discovery:
Engage deeply with engineers, product managers, and architects to understand their systems, goals, and pain points. You’ll map these into Sendbird’s APIs, SDKs, and AI capabilities. - Design Tailored Solutions:
Create architectural recommendations that fit each customer’s business needs—whether they’re building a chat app, deploying an AI support agent, or connecting millions of users. - Deliver Demos that Inspire:
Build and present compelling demos that show not just how Sendbird works, but what it can do for them. - Handle Security & Compliance:
Be confident articulating Sendbird’s security and compliance story (SOC 2, ISO-27001, HIPAA), helping customers build trust from the start. - Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to post-launch. - Stay Curious:
Keep up with the latest trends in AI agents, communication tech, and developer tools—bringing fresh insights to every customer conversation.
- 3+ years in Sales Engineering or Solutions Architecture, ideally within a developer-focused or platform-based SaaS company.
- Solid understanding of APIs, SDKs, and integration workflows—you know how modern apps are built and scaled.
- Experience with at least one development environment (e.g., JavaScript/React, iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin, Unity, React Native, Flutter).
- Awareness of Generative AI trends and a curiosity to experiment and learn.
- Excellent communication skills—you can simplify the technical for non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfort in front of customers, from hands-on developers to executive decision-makers.
- English speaker with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bonus: fluency in an additional European language (French, German, Spanish).
