Senior Product Designer, Social Identity

As a Senior Product Designer on Social Identity, you will define how identity is created, expressed, and understood across Roblox. You’ll design the foundational systems that allow players, creators, influencers, and brands to present who they are, build reputation, and form meaningful social connections in immersive environments.

This role is focused on the identity layer of the platform—the surfaces and signals that make social interaction possible  will own high-impact experiences used by millions every day, including profiles, names, presence, status, social proof, and identity-related co-play signals, as well as new zero-to-one capabilities.

Your work will power how people recognize one another, signal interests and credibility, and build trust and belonging across Roblox. You’ll operate at the intersection of identity, social systems, and safety, with a strong emphasis on scalable design, clarity, and craft.

• Own and evolve core Social Identity systems across Roblox, from early concept through launch and iteration.
• Define UX strategy for identity surfaces (e.g., profiles, presence, naming, social proof) and contribute to adjacent social experiences.
• Design scalable identity frameworks that support multiple audiences, including younger players, teens, adults, creators, studios, influencers, and brands.
• Explore and deliver zero-to-one identity features that help users express themselves, establish credibility, and connect with others in immersive spaces.
• Translate deep user understanding into clear identity signals, grounded in research, behavioral insights, and platform constraints.
• Set a high bar for craft by delivering intuitive, expressive, and accessible identity experiences across devices and form factors.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering to align on priorities, provide high-quality design specs, and ensure thoughtful execution.
• Collaborate with Design Systems and Foundations teams to evolve shared identity patterns, components, and guidelines that scale across the platform.
• Leverage data, experimentation, and qualitative feedback to refine identity clarity, trust, and usability over time.
• Influence cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Data, Trust & Safety, Marketing) through strong design rationale and storytelling.
• Mentor and support fellow designers through feedback, partnership, and example, contributing to a strong design culture.
• Communicate design vision and outcomes clearly at the team and org level.

• 8+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products at scale, with demonstrated ownership of complex systems.
• A portfolio that highlights identity, social, or platform-level design, showcasing strong systems thinking and exceptional craft.
• Deep experience designing profiles, identity signals, social presence, communication, or reputation systems.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows; familiarity with 3D, avatars, or spatial tools is a plus, not a requirement.
• A proven ability to design cohesive identity systems, not just isolated features.
• Expert understanding of interaction, communication, and social design patterns.
• Comfort balancing business goals, user needs, safety considerations, and technical constraints.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions without formal authority.
