Must Have Technical/Functional

Skills:

• Power BI Expertise
  • Advanced data modeling (star schema, snowflake, composite models)
  • DAX proficiency for complex measures and KPIs
  • Performance tuning (aggregations, incremental refresh, query folding)
• Data Warehousing & Modeling
  • Design and implement dimensional models and data marts
  • Strong understanding of relational and analytical databases (SQL Server, Synapse, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Handling slowly changing dimensions, surrogate keys, and conformed dimensions
• ETL/ELT & Integration
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Databricks
  • Implement incremental refresh and CDC strategies
  • Integrate Power BI with enterprise systems (IAM, catalogs, CI/CD)
• Migration Expertise
  • Experience migrating legacy BI platforms (e.g., Micro Strategy, SSRS) to Power BI
  • Report inventory analysis, semantic layer redesign, and KPI parity validation
• Governance & Security
  • Implement RLS and OLS
  • Workspace governance, certified datasets, and deployment pipelines
  • Metadata and lineage management using Purview or Collibra
• Dev Ops & Automation
  • Automate deployments with Power BI REST APIs and Power Shell
  • CI/CD pipelines for PBIX, datasets, and parameters
  • Version control and rollback strategies
• Performance & Capacity Planning
  • Optimize large-scale models for Premium capacities
  • Monitor and manage capacity utilization and cost
• Cloud & Identity Management
  • Azure AD/Entra  authentication and role synchronization
  • Service principals and token-based authentication for embedding scenarios

Nice To Have

• Experience with Micro Strategy to Power BI migration.

• Develop data models and ensure data integration across systems.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership for BI projects, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement strategic BI goals and initiatives.
• Lead the integration of BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
• Ensure quality and accessibility of data, and manage metadata, lineage, and security.

Salary range: $110,000 to $150,000 per year
