Position

Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Coordinator – Help Me Grow team. This role supports families with young children in San Mateo County by connecting families to ECMH resources, providing care coordination, and coaching colleagues on engaging families around mental health and trauma-informed practices.

Compensation: $28-$31/hr

Schedule: Full-time, based out of Redwood City, CA / San Mateo, CA

Responsibilities
  • Family Support & Care Coordination: Serve as a resource for parents/caregivers of children under 6 with social-emotional or developmental concerns; provide warm referrals and follow-up for ECMH services; support families identified through ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE2 screenings, especially those with low protective factors.
  • Program Development & Data Management: Build and maintain a database of ECMH services in San Mateo County; generate monthly reports on referrals, outcomes, and barriers to care; document case notes and support CQI.
  • Coaching & Team Support: Coach Help Me Grow and Family Resource Center Coordinators on engaging families in conversations about mental health and trauma; participate in case reviews and team meetings; identify professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Community Partnerships & Systems Engagement: Develop relationships with mental health providers and community partners; represent Help Me Grow at countywide meetings and inform systems change via family-identified trends.
  • Outreach & Parent-Child Programming: Support in-person and virtual parent-child groups; participate in outreach events and educational workshops; serve as a public-facing advocate for Help Me Grow and ECMH.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in early childhood mental health, early childhood special education, psychology, or social work; or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with families and children birth through five.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or other high-frequency languages in San Mateo County).
  • Knowledge of ACEs, Protective Factors Framework, or trauma-informed practices.
Hiring Requirements
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of physical clearance
  • Criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age or job permit clearance
Physical Activity

Ability to sit/stand and keyboard as needed; ability to lift at least 25 lbs; ability to drive and travel within San Mateo County.
