Fractional Crypto Financial Controller Consultant

Thesis is looking for a highly talented and thoughtful Crypto Financial Controller Consultant (on a fractional part-time basis) to advise our accounting operations. While we are seeking a candidate with a robust technical accounting foundation, this role is designed for someone who wants to transcend traditional reporting.

Mezo is Bitcoins’ Economic Layer; a new home for Bitcoin holders to cultivate Bitcoin and grow wealth together. It is a Bitcoin-first chain designed for user ownership of assets, reliable bridging with tBTC, a dual staking model for rewards and validation, and much more.

Thesis is looking for a highly talented and thoughtful Crypto Financial Controller Consultant (on a fractional part-time basis) to advise our accounting operations. While we are seeking a candidate with a robust technical accounting foundation, this role is designed for someone who wants to transcend traditional reporting.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will have a front-row seat to strategic finance, fundraising, and the evolution of the Web3 venture studio model. This is a "builder" role—perfect for someone who can move from first principles to execution without needing a massive staff to get things done.

Core Accounting & Fin Ops

• End-to-End Oversight: Provide advisory on the full accounting lifecycle with our in-house accountant, including month-end close, AR/AP, and the consolidation of our multi-entity venture studio structure.

• Complex Crypto Accounting: Solve high-level challenges involving token accounting (including pre-market tokens), crypto-native payroll, and tax optimization.

• Tokenomics Accounting: Advise on tracking vesting schedules for team/investors and handling the tax implications of token grants.

Strategic FP&A & Treasury

• Financial Storytelling: Create management, investor, and board-level reporting that translates complex data into clear strategic insights.

• Treasury Management: Effectively manage a diverse treasury of cash, cash-equivalents, and tokens to achieve the financial objectives.

• Token Management. Managing stablecoin yields and gas fees; monitoring hardware/multisig wallets.

Tax & Compliance

• Global Compliance: Advise on federal, state, and local tax compliance across our global footprint, ensuring we remain ahead of the curve in a shifting regulatory landscape.

• 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience

• Ideally 2-3 years in Big 4 accounting, followed by experience in-house at a corporate

• Startup and/or crypto experience is a must

• Comprehensive experience with US GAAP

• CPA qualification
