Key Responsibilities- Oversee state‑level tax projects, including compliance and related research.
- Lead and direct a team in managing state tax compliance and advisory services for clients.
- Provide complex tax review, research, planning, and consulting services to diverse clients.
- Model state tax benefits and consequences using Excel, Power
BI, or Alteryx. - Write technical memos to articulate issues, conclusions, and analysis.
- Managing and executing state income tax compliance responsibilities.
- Monitoring state income tax laws and regulations and determining impact.
- Leading or assisting with tax planning and special projects.
- Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual state income tax provisions.
- Developing a team environment with staff and senior staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline with approximately six years of related experience.
- High proficiency in state income tax code, regulations, and procedures.
- Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.
- Obtained or partially achieved CPA qualification or certification as a member of a professional tax organization.
- State bar membership or ability to sit for bar examination.
