Accounts Payable Specialist - Consulting Role (Robert Half Loan Staff Practice)

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Loan Staff Practice. As a full-time employee of Robert Half, you'll work as a consultant providing accounting support to a dedicated client base.

This role offers the stability of full-time employment with the variety of consulting assignments. You'll support clients with day-to-day accounts payable operations while gaining experience across different industries and systems.

What You'll Do:

+ Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner

+ Review and verify invoices, coding, and approvals prior to processing

+ Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation (three-way match)

+ Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers

+ Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation is on file

+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues

+ Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong vendor relationships

+ Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reconciliation schedules

+ Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls

+ Support audit requests and assist with documentation as needed

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 2+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+

Experience with invoice processing and vendor management

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

+

Experience with ERP or accounting systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Quick Books, etc.)

+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills

+ Experience processing high-volume invoices

Experience with purchase order-based AP environments

+ Knowledge of 1099 reporting and vendor compliance

+ Experience working with automated AP systems or workflow tools

+ Exposure to multiple industries or accounting systems
