Senior Assurance Associate, CA

Rate of Pay: $119,662 per year

Responsibilities:

• Lead audit engagements and communicate audit status to Managers, Senior Managers, Partners, and staff in our East Asia office.
• Prepare work papers for complex/high-risk areas and executing audit procedures based on audit planning and risk assessment procedures.
• Supervise junior staff, provide on-the-job coaching, and review their work, and provide review comments to ensure audit quality.
• Assist in engagement planning and risk assessment including designing additional audit procedures based on the client’s business, and to address complex audit areas.
• Coordinate with client management and finance leaders to resolve complex accounting issues and manage daily communication with clients, particularly those conducting business in Mandarin and Cantonese, regarding audit progress.
• Communications include technical accounting discussions, documentation clarification, and time-sensitive inquiries, conducted in written English and Chinese, and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
• Research accounting & auditing matters and document conclusions. Prepare technical audit memos for complex audit areas (e.g. Expected Credit Loss, Revenue Recognition, Goodwill Impairment, and Equity vs. Debt treatment of financial instruments).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Managerial Economics, or other accounting-related field;
• 24 months of work experience as an Accountant, Auditor, or related position in a public accounting firm;
• 150-credit requirement necessary for the CPA license;
• Proficient in Mandarin and Cantonese;
• Supervise Accountants and Auditors;
• Travel: 10 to 12 domestic trips per year for client meetings and audits, each lasting about one week.
