The Tax Reviewer is responsible for reviewing complex tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. This role ensures quality control, provides feedback to preparers, communicates directly with clients as needed, and supports partners/managers during tax season. The ideal candidate has experience reviewing hotel industry tax returns and partnership (Form 1065) tax returns, including multi-state filings and K-1 allocations.
Responsibilities- Review individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Identify errors, missing information, and opportunities for tax optimization
- Review work papers and documentation to ensure proper support for reported items
- Communicate with clients to request additional documentation or clarify tax issues
- Prepare for and lead tax audits
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years' of experience of professional tax experience
- CPA license required
- High attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes
