Job Title:

Associate Store Leader (Manager)

Primary Purpose

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in retail to develop business‑driving initiatives, communicate and achieve store productivity targets, model and supervise the selling environment, and build brand equity.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business initiatives that drive repeat business or attract new customers.
  • Communicate and achieve store productivity targets including sales per hour, adt, upt, and capture rate.
  • Ensure all associates and leadership complete the sales training program and develop strong product knowledge across all categories.
  • Model and supervise the selling environment, provide consistent coaching on sales training process to ensure the highest level of customer service and sales.
  • Assist SSL/Area Leader with achieving financial success through measurable improvements that positively impact store performance.
  • Assume the SL role in manager’s absence, if applicable.
  • Lead by example in achieving personal sales goals.
  • Educate the team on product, sales plans, personal goals, and measurable stats; coach the team to maximize business.
  • Network in the community to fill open positions efficiently and build a bench for future promotions.
  • Post and manage all open positions through iCIMs.
  • Onboard new team members effectively through 30/60/90 touch bases; conduct ongoing performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Utilize mid‑year and annual review process as a tool for associate development and advancement; monitor and address performance concerns on a timely basis, partnering HR when necessary.
  • Understand and communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic, brand philosophy, and lifestyle to the sales team and customers.
  • Ensure visual merchandising directives are implemented and store presentation standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Communicate merchandise sell‑through, stock position, business trend information, product issues, and customer feedback to Senior Store Leader/Area Leader to increase customer service and sales.
  • Perform and supervise store opening and closing procedures including counting register funds, completing bank deposits, opening and closing registers, and securing the facility.
  • Assist Senior Store Leader/Area Leader with maintaining payroll budget by managing schedules and making necessary adjustments when the business warrants.
  • Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies and procedures with a focus on loss prevention to protect inventory and assets.
  • Accurately manage the processing of all POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Partner with warehouse to manage workload planning, markdowns, and merchandise flow processes.
  • Maintain office and facility organization and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years management experience in a comparable retail environment.
  • Professional sales development and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities; effective communication with all levels of the organization and client base.
  • Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to business needs.
  • Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflict within a team‑environment.
  • Proficient in Windows‑based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • College degree preferred; prior luxury goods experience preferred.
  • Physical requirements:

    Available to work store schedule, including evenings and weekends; standing for extended periods; able to safely lift boxes up to 40 pounds; comfortable climbing ladders.
