Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! San Marcos spreads across 65-acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. We have 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail.
We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR LVN'S TO WORK OVERNIGHT WITH OUR ADOLESCENT POPULATION. THE OVERNIGHT SHIFT IS 10 PM TO 6 AM.
Our Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position is under the supervision of the Director of Nursing; the LVN provides physical assessments of patients, implements treatment plans, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, administers medications as prescribed and provides health care education for patients and families. The LVN is the shift supervisor of the Mental Health Associates, and ensures that the environment is safe and therapeutic for all patients.
The LVN provides direct patient care and management of children, adolescent, and young adult patients as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Assures safety, supervision, and crisis management for patient populations. Provides assessment and medical management of patients, and assists in the management of a therapeutic milieu.

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long term hospital or residential setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License and current driver license.
Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Demonstrates effective organization. Develops and implements patient care services within discipline. Must consistently exhibit mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process; ability to provide safe nursing care; understanding patient rights;
basic supervisory skills.
