Production Supervisor

M&Q Packaging located in San Marcos, TX is currently looking for a Production Supervisor. This position will be a hands‑on, working supervisor role where you will be responsible for supervising 10–15 employees on the production floor.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager who is onsite at this facility.

• Provide effective operational supervision while managing direct reports to achieve daily production goals while maintaining safety procedures on the production floor.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment; enforce and follow company policies, standards, and procedures; ensure OSHA compliance and plant regulations.
• Analyze and improve the production workflow with direct reports, consistently achieving daily production goals and maintaining product quality.
• Ensure the plant achieves successful outcomes of annual audits.
• Follow the Operations Manager’s direction to contribute to decisions on forecasts, departmental/site-specific budgets, month‑end processes, inventory processes, and procedures.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and be highly visible to both the administrative and production workforce.
• Contribute to mechanical discussions, solutions, or thought processes when needed to support a 24/7 operation.
• Create or modify production schedules to meet production and shipment dates.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and a solid thought process when dealing with situational challenges on the production floor.
• Partner with HR and all department heads to attract and retain employees.

• Minimum of 10+ years supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment, with at least 10–20 direct reports across varied departments.
• Experience in plastics packaging, food packaging, or extrusion industry is a major plus.
• Bi‑lingual or ability to understand and communicate between English & Spanish.
• Mechanically inclined or able to discuss/contribute to mechanical solutions for machinery on the production floor; extrusion or electrical knowledge is a definite plus. Must strategize with management and departmental leaders to improve and streamline processes.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); a plus.
