The Department of Engineering Technology seeks to develop a pool of candidates for postdoctoral scholars (post-doc) positions.
A post-doc is a professional appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. A post-doc works under the supervision and sponsorship of a regular faculty member, who serves as a mentor to the post-doc, and it is expected that the faculty sponsor will provide an orientation and development plan for the post-doc, impart the realities and variety of careers available to the post-doc, and encourage learning opportunities to broaden the post-doc's aspirations and experiences.
The appointment involves substantial and full-time commitment to research, scholarship, teaching, or other professional activities. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need. Required Qualifications
Recently awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in a discipline relevant to those comprising the department.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience is preferred.

The Department of Engineering Technology will accept applications from qualified applicants on a continual basis. Only applications submitted through the Texas State University website will be accepted and considered.
Interested individuals should submit a current CV, letter of interest outlining specific academic and professional experiences relevant for a postdoc research appointment, statement of research interests, unofficial transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. As part of our application process, we are requesting contact information for three (3) academic references who can provide information about the applicant's research skills and experiences. Please provide the names and email addresses for your academic references in the Reference Letter section of the employment application.
The selected candidate will be required to provide official transcripts from the highest degree granting institution.
