The Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University seeks a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction in its Manufacturing Engineering Program, beginning Fall 2026. Our ABET-accredited program enjoys a long history of research and industry collaboration in conventional and advanced manufacturing. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in curriculum and program development, and engage in university and professional service.
Preference is given to candidates with expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies, including AI-based manufacturing, additive manufacturing, robotics, control and instrumentation, composites, simulation, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
* Work and/or research experience in one or more of the following areas:
Manufacturing Systems Design/Simulation;
Robotics;
Control Systems;
Cybersecurity in Manufacturing;
Composites; AI and Machine Learning applications in Manufacturing;
Additive Manufacturing;
Senior Design Projects.
* Ability to teach in at least two of the areas listed above.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies.
* Post-doctoral research experience and/or industry experience.
* Experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate students as well as supporting graduate-level instruction.
* Familiarity with ABET accreditation procedures and documentation.
