- Experience developing and implementing academic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Texas State University System (TSUS), and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) rules, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding curriculum.
- Knowledge of university policy and procedures statements and Academic Affairs policy and procedure statements.
- Expertise developing and presenting training workshops.
- Experience with curriculum in a student information system (e.g., Banner).
- Responsible for assisting with the management of the course inventory, assisting with program inventory and the General Education Core Curriculum, processing course proposals and timelines, developing and implementing curricular policies and procedures, assisting with coordinating the catalog publication and maintaining the curriculum calendar. The Curriculum Specialist is also responsible for providing administrative support to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) as well as active participation in the commencement ceremonies.
The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for processing the course inventory, program inventory and the General Education Core Curriculum, reviewing course proposals and timelines, reviewing curricular policies and procedures, assisting with coordinating the catalog publication and following the curriculum calendar. The Curriculum Specialist is also responsible for assisting with the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) as well as participation in commencement ceremonies.
Job Duties- Responsible for processing the curriculum in the Banner Student Information System (SIS) and the Course Leaf Course Inventory Management (CIM) databases.
- Disseminate SIS and PIM/CIM information with appropriate offices.
- Review, edit, and process course proposals and timelines in the PIM/CIM system.
- Monitor curriculum cycle calendars, timelines, documents and implement updates as needed.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and improvement of the Course Leaf Catalog system.
- Review curricular policies and procedures, identify enhancements, and find ways to decrease administrative burden.
- Provide information to faculty, staff, chairs, deans, and the UCC on curricular matters and in curriculum workshops.
- Provide support to the UCC for curriculum proposals.
- Serve in commencement ceremonies on the Core Commencement Team providing leadership in assigned duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
