The Skilled Demolition Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently dismantle structures as part of restoration projects, adhering to safety protocols, and efficient execution of the demolition process. A Skilled Demolition Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that demolition projects are completed safely and efficiently. They contribute to the success of construction and renovation projects. The Skilled Demolition Technician reports to, receives work, and direction from the Field Mitigation Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demolition Tasks:
Perform controlled demolition of structures, including walls, floors, ceilings, and other building components. Safely remove damaged materials while preserving undamaged areas for restoration. Operate demolition tools and equipment such as hammers, saws, drills, and skid steers.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and OSHA standards. Ensure the safety of the job site by identifying and mitigating hazards. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with project managers, restoration technicians, and other team members to meet project goals. Communicate effectively with team members and customers, explaining the scope of demolition work as needed.
Site Preparation and Cleanup:
Prepare job sites by setting up containment barriers and protecting surrounding areas. Remove debris and maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
Equipment Maintenance:
Inspect, clean, maintain, and report any issues with demolition tools and equipment. Ensure tools are stored and handled properly to prolong their lifespan.

* Strong knowledge of demolition techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
* Proficiency in using demolition tools and machinery.

* Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding environments.
* Drive company vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and other machinery.
* Ability to provide company management with timely and accurate information related to the progress and status of projects.
* Focus and dedication to providing excellent customer service.
* Maintain a clean, properly stocked and organized truck and maintain all company equipment.
* Be accessible by phone and participate, as necessary, in the on-call schedule after hours.
* Assist in warehousing and facility related tasks when necessary.
* Willingness to participate in all training as needed or required.
* Follow safety rules and regulations.
Education, Certification and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
* Proven experience in demolition and or construction work preferred.
* An insurable, valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy equipment (if required) .
* Complete background check and drug test.
* A high school diploma or a GED certificate
Physical Requirements:
* The ability to occasionally lift a minimum of 75lbs
* Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
Work Environment:
The Skilled Demolition Technician often work outside the confines of a traditional office setting. They can work in various locations, including construction sites, industrial facilities, residential areas, and remote or rural locations.
