Position: Principal Data & Analytics Architect (Hybrid)

Principal Data & Analytics Architect (Hybrid)

Hunter Industries is investing in the future of data and analytics. As part of our modernization journey, we’re building the foundation for a more connected, data‑driven enterprise—one where reliable, governed, and accessible data enables smarter decisions across every business function.

We’re looking for a Principal Data & Analytics Architect who will serve as a strategic and technical cornerstone of this transformation. In this role, you’ll define the data architecture, governance practices, and integration frameworks that make enterprise data a trusted, high‑quality asset. You’ll also lead a cross‑functional Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) to drive enterprise adoption of data governance, analytics best practices, and data literacy across the organization.

This is a hands‑on, build‑phase leadership position—ideal for a data architect who enjoys both shaping strategy and working directly with teams and technology to bring it to life.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the design and selection of modern data platforms and tools to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data management.
  • Define and implement Hunter’s data architecture, including integration patterns, data models, and shared analytics structures.
  • Establish and operationalize data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, metadata management, and stewardship practices are embedded into daily operations.
  • Lead the cross‑functional Data & Analytics CoE to drive enterprise‑wide adoption of data governance, analytics best practices, and effective data utilization.
  • Manage and mentor a small but growing team of engineers and analysts, fostering professional development and alignment with data strategy goals.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align data strategy with enterprise goals and reporting needs.
  • Partner with internal teams and external experts to deliver early data integrations and proof‑of‑concepts.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and accountability across the organization through education and partnership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field required.
  • Professional certifications in modern cloud or data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, engineering, or analytics leadership.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable data ecosystems in modern cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Expertise in data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices.
  • Strong skills in data modeling, integration design, and analytics enablement.
  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing data teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business and IT teams.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on‑site collaboration with remote productivity.
What We Offer
  • Amazing corporate culture – we walk the walk when it comes to our values!
  • Beautiful 20‑acre park‑like campus with creek and walking trails
  • On‑site wellness center with personal training, fitness classes, and massage
  • FUN company events!
  • Company donation matching and volunteer rewards
  • Career development opportunities and profit‑sharing bonus

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $132,000 to $160,000.
