The Team

The Technology, Commercial & Industrial group focuses on advanced manufacturing, generative AI computing, data centers and distributed infrastructure. The Data Centers Team delivers facility planning, design, engineering, construction, technology and energy services.

The Opportunity

In this role you may have the opportunity to:

  • Function as a technical specialist or Project Lead.
  • Lead delivery of design‑only, design‑build and construction‑only Electrical Engineering projects for Data Centers.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise in Data Center design.
  • Offer technical guidance on client standards to engineering and technician staff.
  • Collaborate with a network of experienced engineers.
  • Build business relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate with local electrical utilities.
  • Review supplier submittals.
  • Continuously learn and develop technical expertise.

This role supports projects primarily in North America. Ideal candidates will be located or willing to relocate to Arlington, VA;
Los Angeles, CA;
Canonsburg, PA; or Overland Park, KS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and B&V policies.
  • Apply B&V quality program; support compliance; drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables, perform research, recommend equipment/materials, manage data, and produce calculations.
  • Manage budget, schedule, and quality for assigned projects.
  • Delegate tasks and review engineering work of lower level team members.
  • Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders on moderately complex projects.
  • Identify key client interests, communicate them to team, and develop approaches to accommodate them.
  • Provide consultation and guidance as a technical specialist; design complete projects or support multiple projects.
  • Mentor lower level professionals and identify successors.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit/BIM with a strong interest in ensuring safe project delivery.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in Data Centers and/or Data Center Facility Design.
  • Understanding of design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency.
  • Knowledge of design differences in hyper‑scale, edge, and colocation data centers.
  • Proficiency in 3‑D modeling and custom family creation in Autodesk Revit.
  • Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems.
  • Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets, view templates and project phasing.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Skill in analyzing data and metrics to challenge assumptions.
  • Use AutoCAD/Revit/BIM and engineering studies software for tasks.
  • Professional communication skills for client‑facing activities.
  • Project leadership, including scheduling, budgeting and staffing.
  • Business development support: scope of work, level of effort, site visits.
  • Strong leadership skills and desire to train early‑career professionals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.
