San Marcos, Round Rock, and/or online.
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations, continuity of funding, and departmental need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
This posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 semesters. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be considered by the departmental search committee when the need arises. For information about our department, visit the Geography & Environmental Studies website

- Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject field.
- Previous teaching experience.
The Department of Geography & Environmental Studies will accept applications on a continual basis. Applications submitted through the Texas State University website will be accepted and considered.
