The Department of Anthropology at Texas State University seeks to develop a pool of candidates with expertise in Anthropology for possible temporary/nontenured faculty teaching positions.
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
This posting is for the academic year. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Positions are subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is required by the time of appointment.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
