Work Schedule:
A part-time faculty member’s assignment may include day, evening and/or weekend work, and work at more than one location (San Marcos campus and/or off-campus locations, as well as distance education classes).
Initial Placement Hourly Range:
Instructional: $75.81 – $119.20;
Non-instructional: $74.60 – $117.69.

The EOP&S/CARE/CalWORKs department is seeking qualified part-time counselors to provide academic, personal, and career counseling services, including developing educational plans and delivering follow-up services to EOP&S students.
Minimum QualificationsMust meet all of the qualifications listed under
1) through
3):
- a) A Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work or career development.
- b) A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the qualifications in a) above. You must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form (
www.palomar.edu/hr/equivalency-app/), if you do not possess the specific minimum qualifications as stated above, which includes degrees that have not been awarded at the time of submitting the application.
- a) Have completed a minimum of nine semester units of college coursework predominantly relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
- b) Have completed six semester units or the equivalent of a college-level counseling practicum or counseling field‑work courses in a community college EOPS program, or in a program dealing predominantly with ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. NOTE:
For occupational experience, a “year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 11 months. Occupational experience does not include teaching experience.
