- Category: Hours per week Part-time faculty members are not to exceed a load of 67%.
- Work Schedule: Hours will be assigned during the ECE Lab School’s hours of operation. The assignment may include work at either location (San Marcos and/or Escondido) or at both locations.
Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating a daily curriculum of developmentally appropriate activities for young children; assists in supervising children at all times ensuring their safety and well-being. Assists Teacher, Master Teacher, or Site Supervisor in a classroom of young children 18 months to 5 years or serves as a substitute during the absence of Teachers, Associate Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and/or student workers.
Maintains a developmentally appropriate child-centered program.

To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
Experience:
- Required:
At least 50 days (three or more hours per day within two years) in a childcare setting. - Preferred:
Six months of experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
Education:
- Required:
12 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university, including child growth and development, child, family and community, and at least one program/curriculum class. - Preferred:
An additional six to 12 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university, including infant/toddler, curriculum, guidance, and/or health/safety/nutrition.
Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. Coursework and degrees that are completed outside of the United States are required to have transcripts evaluated (evaluation to U.S. equivalency and a course by course analysis) by an appropriate U.S. credentials evaluation service.
