Part‑time Faculty — Engineering (Lecturer)

Multiple Sites (San Marcos campus, off‑campus locations, and distance education classes)
Full or Part Time:
Part‑time, assignment may include day, evening, and/or weekend work.
Hours per week:
Part‑time faculty members are not to exceed a load of 67%.
Initial Placement Hourly Range: $75.81 – $119.20 (instructional); $74.60 – $117.69 (non‑instructional)
- Part‑time faculty employees may elect membership in the Apple retirement plan.
The Physics and Engineering department is seeking qualified part‑time instructors to teach Engineering. Teaching assignments may include any of the curriculum approved courses within the discipline of Engineering.
Minimum QualificationsMust meet one of the following sets of qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in any field of engineering.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any field of engineering AND a Master’s in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, or geology.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any field of engineering WITH a professional engineer’s license, pursuant to Title 5, Section 53410.1 of the California Code of Regulations.
- A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the qualifications in

Only coursework and degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will satisfy the minimum qualifications. Degrees awarded outside the United States must be evaluated by a U.S. credentials evaluation service acceptable to Palomar College (e.g., NACES or AICE).
