A 3‑unit course in our Multiple Subject credential program. This course focuses on developing teacher candidates’ advanced understandings of learning theory and instructional practice in technology‑integrated and inclusive elementary classrooms. Candidates develop their knowledge and skills related to inclusive unit planning, formative and summative literacy assessment, and classroom management.
- Master’s degree in education, curriculum & instruction, elementary literacy, or a closely related field.
- Per California State University’s Out-of‑State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU‑related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

- Experience teaching in higher education
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
- Recent experience teaching in public TK‑6 elementary classrooms
- Knowledge of and experience with restorative practices, Universal Design for Learning, Multi‑tiered Systems of Support, and Individual Education Plans
- Valid California teaching credential
- Familiarity with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) standards for multiple subject credentials
- Preference for applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community related to teaching and, where applicable, service
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range (Lecturer A – AY): $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range (Lecturer B – AY): $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
