Senior Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with at least 5 years of experience leading the month-end and year-end close to own core accounting operations for a growing agriculture-based business. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional looking to grow as the company scales.

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant, and audit-ready financials.
• Prepare and post journal entries in Net Suite with supporting documentation and approvals.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry logs, and close work papers.
• Own inventory accounting, including system-to-physical reconciliations, COGS adjustments, and oversight of physical counts.
• Support agriculture-specific inventory considerations such as yield variances, shrink, and spoilage.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements and management reporting.
• Support audits, tax filings (sales & property tax), and annual PBC requests.
• Partner with Operations to improve inventory accuracy, costing, and accounting processes.
• Drive process improvements across close, reconciliations, and system workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger ownership.
• Hands-on experience leading month-end close in a multi-entity or operationally complex environment.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience preparing audit-ready financials.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, formulas used for reconciliations and JE support).
• Experience working in an ERP system;

• Experience in agriculture, food production, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy environments.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required.
• Experience with cost accounting, yield analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Prior involvement in audit coordination, tax filings, or system implementations.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain.
