Accounting Assistant

Description

A well-established manufacturing company in San Marcos is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support a fast-paced accounting department. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working with high-volume transactions and gaining exposure to cost accounting and inventory-related processes.

Position Overview

The Accounting Assistant will provide hands-on support to the accounting team by assisting with transactional accounting, reconciliations, and reporting. This position offers exposure to manufacturing operations and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

+ Process high-volume accounts payable invoices

+ Assist with accounts receivable billing and collections support

+ Reconcile inventory-related transactions and cost accounts

+ Enter journal entries and assist with month-end close

+ Maintain vendor files and verify payment information

+ Assist with audit preparation and documentation

+ Support accounting reports related to production and inventory

+ Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams

+ Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of financial data

Requirements

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

+ 2+ years of accounting assistant or related experience

+ Experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred

+ Strong Excel skills, including basic formulas and reconciliations

+ Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus

+ Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

+ Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
