Join our Smart & Final store operations team as a Part‑time Retail Associate at the Chedraui USA group. This role is based at 1321 Johnson Avenue, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

Starting Rate: $16.90 per hour.

What You'll Bring:

• Read and write English; communicate with customers and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend product labels, pricing codes, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information to customers in one‑on‑one or small group situations.
• Follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

The Opportunity:

The Part‑time Retail Associate performs management‑assigned duties, which may include but are not limited to stocking and maintaining a store section, carry‑out services and store cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a store section and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment).
• Ensure proper pricing and review product date codes for rotation; stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers by providing current store and product information.
• Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
