Starting Rate: $16.90 per hour

Job Overview: The Part-Time Associate reports to the Store Manager and performs management-assigned duties, including receiving inventory, stocking and maintaining a store section, operating a cash register, carry-out services, and store cleaning.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a store section as assigned; order, receive, and stock merchandise, ensuring proper pricing, checking product date codes, stocking shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases; prepare perishable products for sale; set up advertising/promotional displays; review invoices/bills for accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed by store management.
  • Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, make change or process check/charge/debit transactions, process cash and/or credit refunds when approved by management, and verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
  • Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by providing current store and product information. When requested, load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles.
  • Perform basic bookkeeping duties. Record lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
Qualifications
  • Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
  • Regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs; frequently up to 45 lbs; occasionally up to 60 lbs.
