COOK (FULL TIME) – Compass Healthcare

Adventist Sierra Vista – 1010 Murray Street, San Luis, Obispo, CA 93405. Full‑time schedule:
Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 am–7:30 pm. Online applications only.

• 2+ years of prior cooking experience.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP.
• Ability to work a full‑time schedule and handle kitchen equipment safely.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
• Fixed pay rate: $24.00 per hour.

Prepares food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality and compliance at all times.

• Prepare high‑quality food items following standardized recipes to meet production schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
• Use ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records.
• Keep the kitchen clean and orderly; store or discard excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
• Maintain refrigerators, storerooms, and equipment in compliance with standards.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting.
• Assist with ordering and receipt of food and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform duties safely while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper portion control, presentation, and serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Commit to personal safety and that of others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures.

• Use a medium weight cutting glove when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or a slicer.
• Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
• Wear slip‑resistant shoes and use proper lifting techniques.
