Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination for the Primary and Specialty Care clinic. The position is a combination of clinical (direct patient care) and administrative nursing responsibilities. We're seeking an experienced RN with supervisory experience to lead and support our clinical team. In this vital role, you'll provide hands-on patient care while ensuring an efficient workflow of our back office team at the San Luis Obispo Primary and Specialty Care clinic.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform patient assessment, care, and education to pediatric and adult patients in a clinical/urgent care setting
- Supervise and train clinic nursing staff
- Work closely with physicians to manage patient care; triage phone and in-basket messages for providers
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Clinical Director to ensure seamless clinical operations
- Plan and adjust staffing to meet operational needs efficiently
- Manage the Quality Assurance and audit process; order clinic supplies and medications
- Current CA RN License
- BSN or MSN
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 3 years of recent clinic experience

- Consistently identifies opportunities to improve unit performance and takes action to implement ideas
- Relationship Building Abilities:
- Develops rapport with patients and patients' families
- Able to recognize (or bring attention to) peers' accomplishments
- Developing People Abilities:
- Maintains positive attitude towards unit and work, helping to build unit's positive reputation
- Skills in coaching and assisting staff in:
- developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress
- implementing interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care
- evaluating the effectiveness of interventions toward the attainment of established goals
- recognizing the need to reassess or reset goal parameters
