Wonderful opportunity to join the clinical staff of Paragon Surgery Center. We are a brand new, family oriented, growing, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC) located in San Luis Obispo, CA, by the airport. The Center has two operating rooms and 5 pre-op / PACU bays. The environment is safe, comfortable and caring, and we are the partner of choice for surgical care on the Central Coast.

Specialties include Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Cardiology, Plastics.

$45.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Per Diem RN – The per diem registered nurse works under the direct supervision of the administrator and nursing supervisor and functions as a member of the ASC. The position provides professional perioperative nursing care (preop, intraop, and/or postop).

Duties include:

• Monitoring vital signs
• Observe and record patient behavior
• Collect patient health history
• Administering medications
• Circulate in the OR
• Counsel and educate patients on treatment plans
• Provide support to patients and their families
• Monitor and evaluate cost-effective practices within the ASC
• Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace
• Contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere
• Willing to train
• Other duties as assigned

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
• Current state RN license
• One (1) year of nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred
• CPR certification and/or ACLS-PALS certification
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
