Hr role. The position is located at Adventist Health Sierra Vista, a 162‑bed acute care facility on the Central California Coast.
Provides unit‑based leadership working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion, ensuring cost‑effective, professional care that results in positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction while maintaining patient safety.
Job Requirements – Education and Work Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
Required. - Master's Degree:
Preferred. - Five years' technical experience:
Preferred. - Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills:
Required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
Required. - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS or HS‑BLS or RQIBLS) certification:
Preferred. - Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification:
Preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS or HS‑BLS or RQI BLS) certification:
Required. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS or HS‑ACLS or RQIACLS) certification:
Required. - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification:
Required.
- Provides unit‑based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services, supervises unit personnel, and initiates and coordinates interprofessional conferences to revise care plans.
- Fosters an environment of patient- and family‑centered care, with special attention to cultural diversity.
- Ensures compliance with Patient Safety Goals and participates in performance improvement teams.
- Assesses staffing requirements, assigns staff based on acuity, and manages staff schedules and performance.
- Maintains department equipment and cleanliness, documenting activities and incidents.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
