Talent Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a People Operations (HR) Generalist to execute key People functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and training. With several years of experience, you will serve as the HR operational partner to Zone 5's employees, operationalizing HR policies, fostering employee engagement, ensuring legal compliance, and driving People initiatives aligned with our values and growth.
This role blends tactical execution with process optimization and offers opportunities for growth into HR strategy.
The People Operations Generalist reports to the Head of People and is on-site, full-time, exempt.
Responsibilities- Employee Relations and Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies and workplace concerns.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Compliance and Policy Implementation
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist with HR audits.
- Update and enforce HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Benefits Administration and Compensation
- Process benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Partner with finance to optimize offerings and resolve issues.
- Training and Development
- Facilitate trainings and professional development programs.
- Monitor and track compliance-related training.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor 0s degree in HR/related field, or equivalent experience
- 4 07 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist, HRBP, or HR-dept-of-1 role.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
- Experience with startups, aerospace, DCMA, or DoD contractors is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CA employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience with HRIS, ATS, and Compensation Benchmarking tools.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay range for this role: $70,000 - $120,000 USD

Location:
On-site in San Luis Obispo, CA. If you do not already live in the area, relocation may be considered.
Note:
Texas roles are remote initially and will be on-site when the midwestern DFW location opens in 2026.
