Non-Instructional Faculty (Coach/Counselor/Librarian) 1 — Clinical Counselor (12 months), SSP AR II at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo Campus.

Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo Campus. Category:
Temporary, Full Time, On-site. Unit: CFA - California Faculty Association. This pool will be used to notify applicants when new Student Services opportunities become available.
- Provide individual, couples, and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and prevention education as a member of the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) team within Campus Health & Wellbeing.
- Address crisis interventions and work with serious presenting concerns; conceptualize cases and provide diagnoses within a sociocultural context.
- Engage in outreach and education activities; participate in campus consultations as part of CAPS.
- Demonstrated competence with diversity and intersectionality; ability to address mental health needs of historically marginalized populations.
- Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, and the California Medical Information Act as it relates to psychotherapy in a university setting and confidentiality.
- Ability to speak publicly, provide training to, and consult with the campus community on mental health topics.
- Experience providing brief individual and group psychotherapy to late adolescent and young adult populations, including DSM diagnoses.
- Ability to effectively manage clinical crisis situations, including hospitalizations.
Possession of a Master’s degree in an appropriate field and current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice in California as an LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT with a minimum of 7 years of clinical experience post-licensure, or possession of a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and current licensure or eligibility as a psychologist in California with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience post-licensure.
Experience in a college mental health setting is preferred.
Note: Hiring level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Licenses, Certificates, Degrees, Credentials- All counselors must be licensed in California within two years of initial appointment.

Current California psychologist, LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT license free of active disciplinary action.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $108,000-$115,000
Classification Range: $93,960-$168,228
