the computer engineering department in the college of engineering at california polytechnic state university, san luis obispo, is seeking part-time lecturer positions during the academic year. Part-time appointments are made from a pool of accepted applicants, as determined by need, and contingent on funding. Responsibilities include teaching computer engineering courses, such as digital design, computer architecture, embedded systems, and others. Candidates with extensive industry experience are encouraged to apply.
initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the lecturer a or b rank. As of july 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are: lecturer a: $5,507-$6,677; lecturer b: $6,221-$13,224; lecturer c: $6,825-$14,523; lecturer d: $8,593-$15,211
responsibilities- teach computer engineering courses (e.g., digital design, computer architecture, embedded systems, and others) as assigned.
- contribute to course development and maintenance as needed, and support student learning in a variety of contexts.
- b.s. In computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or related field, with multiple years of applicable industry experience, or m.s. In computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or related field.
- effective communication skills.
- demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
- demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the english language.
- university teaching experience.

- the person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the california child abuse and neglect reporting act and must comply with csu executive order 1083 as a condition of employment.
