OverviewWINE AND VITICULTURE PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The Wine and Viticulture Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the academic year. Lecturers in the Wine and Viticulture Department may teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory sections in one or more of the following areas: viticulture, vineyard production and management;
grapevine physiology; winemaking; wine analysis; wine chemistry; wine microbiology; wine history and culture; wine sensory analysis; and wine business, marketing and sales. Other assignments could include program support and senior project management.
Teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory sections in wine and viticulture topics as determined by department needs. Provide program support and senior project management as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in appropriate discipline is required. Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree preferred. University teaching or industry experience preferred. A graduate degree in appropriate discipline may be substituted for the teaching and/or industry experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.

The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
