Job Summary

The teacher position will care for and educate children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The incumbent must be energetic, motivated by team success, and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while providing high quality care to children.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision of the Program Director, assume responsibility for planning and implementing a quality program for young children, ages 6 weeks–5 years old.
  • Work as part of a team with other teachers in a multi‑age setting.
  • Fill in for other age groups as necessary when situations arise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom, following the philosophies of the Outdoor Classroom Project and Reggio‑based learning.
  • Set up classroom environments following ITERS/ECERS guidelines, with bi‑monthly changes to areas such as the literacy area, science, blocks, art, dramatic play, and manipulatives.
  • Attend morning staff meetings and/or training once per month, and attend an evening team meeting once per month.
  • Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss children’s progress, needs, and goals, and suggest ways they can promote learning and development.
  • Use computer programs such as Word, One Drive, basic digital photography, iPad apps, and other employer software.
Position Requirements
  • 12+ units of Child Development/Early Childhood Studies.
  • 3+ units of Infant/Toddler Care.
  • CPR/First Aid certified (including fifteen hours of Health and Safety Training).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a licensed early‑care and education program.
  • Experience with the Outdoor Classroom Project preferred.
  • May be asked to drive for company purposes; if so, a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
  • May participate in an identity verification process to access secure client or government portals.
Physical Requirements
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone, or virtually.
  • Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or to assemble/manufacture intricate items.
  • Vision to read a variety of materials.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Physical agility to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height; items weighing more than 50 pounds require two or more people or a lifting device.
  • Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
Pay / Salary Information

Pay scale for this position is $21.00 to $25.00 hourly plus a $500.00 sign‑on bonus.
