appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
the accounting area in the orfalea college of business at cal poly is creating a pool of eligible part-time lecturers for possible teaching assignments in taxation during the summer, fall, winter, and/or spring quarters of the academic year. The orfalea college of business offers a master's in accountancy with a tax specialization and undergraduate classes in taxation. The area is seeking qualified applicants that can teach taxation at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the following subject areas: multi-state taxation, international, individual, corporate, partnership, estate and gift and/or reorganizations.
assignments are contingent upon class availability, scheduling, budget and enrollments.
education
initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the lecturer a and b rank. As of july 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
lecturer a: $5,507-$6,677
lecturer b: $6,221-$13,224
lecturer c: $6,825-$14,523
lecturer d: $8,593-$15,211
