The Management, HR and Information Systems Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly seeks applicants for two (2) full‑time, tenure‑track, academic year positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the primary area of Information Systems (IS), with appointment beginning August 17, 2026.
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience of the individual selected. Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank anticipated hiring range is $135,100 - $149,300.
The Management, HR, and Information Systems Area in the Orfalea College of Business encompasses a variety of forward‑thinking, career‑focused academic disciplines. Our faculty conduct widely recognized research and teach innovative courses in fields such as Information Systems, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Organizational Behavior, and Business Strategy.

The successful candidate must have completed or be close to the completion of a doctorate or equivalent degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. The PhD/DBA should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2026. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field.
