The Natural Resources Management and Environmental Sciences Department (NRES) in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a two-year, academic year, Full Time Lecturer in Environmental Planning starting August 17, 2026. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Additional courses across the curriculum may be assigned based on student demand and the applicant's qualifications and interests.

• Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
• Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224 per month
• Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523 per month
• Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211 per month

The person holding this position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083. The NRES Department offers B.S. degrees in Environmental Earth and Soil Sciences, Environmental Management and Protection, and Forestry and Natural Resources, and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Management. The programs enroll approximately 750 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students and are supported by 20 tenured or tenure‑track faculty. The department has on‑campus and off‑campus field and lab resources, including Cal Poly's 3,000‑acre Swanton Pacific Ranch.

It also supports interdisciplinary collaboration across campus, including participation in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fire institute and the Center for Organic Production and Research.
