appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, applicants must be available on very short notice.

journalism department - part-time lecturer pool. The journalism department, college of liberal arts, california polytechnic state university, san luis obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need and funding during the fall, winter and/or spring quarters of the 2025-26 academic year, beginning september 11, 2025. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate news reporting and editing, multimedia and digital journalism, videography, visual communication, feature writing, radio and tv broadcasting, advertising, public relations, multicultural journalism and media law courses.

required qualifications

bachelor's degree in journalism or a related discipline; extensive professional media or public relations experience.

preferred qualifications

master's degree and previous college teaching experience preferred.
