The Economics Area of the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, academic year position at the Assistant Professor level. We are particularly interested in applicants with a research and teaching focus in Applied Microeconomics/Macroeconomics and Econometrics. Successful candidates will teach both undergraduate and graduate (Master's) level classes in econometrics and other field courses of interest, maintain an active research agenda, provide service to the university, and contribute to our community, with appointment beginning August 17, 2026.

Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected, with the anticipated hiring range being $127,500 to $140,900

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Ph.D in Economics or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
