Job Summary

Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager and Executive Assistant to the Dean, the CAFES Advancement Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative oversight and support for the CAFES Advancement team. The incumbent will support the coordination of efforts associated with Advancement and fundraising activities and college stakeholder engagement. This position provides administrative support to the college''s Assistant Dean of Advancement and External Relations, the Director(s) of Development, and the Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives, Communications and Student Leadership.

The coordinator will interface directly with donors, volunteers, University Development and Alumni Engagement staff, department heads, college deans, and others in assisting the college in achieving its advancement and fundraising goals. This position will also provide general administrative support within the Dean''s Office as part of the Dean''s Office administrative services team.

  • Proficiency in identifying, outlining, initiating, and coordinating multiple activities simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment to accomplish large-scale, complex projects with a broad, visible impact; ability to set deadlines and reassign work based on shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated success in interpersonal interactions at all levels, including in highly sensitive situations; ability to maintain confidentiality, be personable, a team player, and professional with internal and external constituencies.
  • Ability to make independent day-to-day operational decisions for the program, with emphasis on interpreting and applying specialized policies and procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate projects to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, propose, and evaluate solutions.
  • Strong independent judgment to interpret and apply policies and procedures, exercising discretion when precedents do not exist, and taking initiative to address problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including concise writing, editing, and revising materials to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write own reports at an advanced level and to produce clear, data-driven presentations and documents.
  • Thorough knowledge of office methods and procedures; strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate the impact of administrative decisions on other areas and meet deadlines with a polished final product, using negotiation and persuasion as needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most office/program administration problems and respond to inquiries related to the program.
  • Strong ability to research, review, analyze, and present budgetary/financial or stakeholder demographic data clearly to various levels of authority in reports and presentations.
