Salary Range: $25 to $28.27 hourly depending on experience

We are seeking an entry‑level Shop Installer Technician to support our Fleet division in San Leandro, CA. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a hands‑on career in diesel, refrigeration, or fleet maintenance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and motivated to grow within a fast‑paced shop environment.
Responsibilities- Assist with the installation of Thermo King vehicle‑powered (VP) and auxiliary power units (APU) on trucks, tractors, and vans.
- Support senior technicians with mechanical installations, component mounting, basic wiring, and system setup.
- Follow installation guidelines, safety procedures, and quality standards to ensure all work meets Sonsray expectations.
- Perform basic shop tasks such as tool organization, parts staging, and work area cleanup.
- Learn proper use of hand and power tools in a shop environment.
- Accurately document work performed as directed by the Service Manager or lead technician.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations and dealership objectives.
- Mechanical aptitude or interest in pursuing a career in fleet, diesel, or equipment service.
- Previous hands‑on experience (automotive, diesel, HVAC, construction, or shop environment) is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions from senior technicians.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools – tools will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work in a shop environment, including standing, bending, lifting, and working with tools and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (as required).
- Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented.
