Job Description
Pay Range: $25hr - $40hr
- Performs assigned system commissioning using configuration and commissioning tools, troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, and responds to warranty-related service needs while following safety standards.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems including 24
VAC, 24
VDC, 0–10 VDC, and 4–20 mA signals. - Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Flexibility to work different shifts.
- Willingness to travel within the local region.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Experience commissioning electronic and or mechanical systems.
- Experience working with HVAC mechanical systems.
- Experience installing and commissioning building management systems.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving system faults and performance issues.
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and control systems.
- Experience integrating and upgrading system components.
- Experience coordinating with electricians, mechanical contractors, and other trades.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior technicians.
- Load system-level controller software.
- Perform commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices.
- Complete required commissioning and as-built documentation.
- Calibrate systems using electronic test equipment.
- Communicate job progress and issues with contractors or customers.
- Document system changes and maintain accurate service records.
- Complete administrative tasks including timesheets and on-site documentation.
- Respond to warranty calls and service requests.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Punctuality and willingness to learn.
- Understanding of building management systems.
- Installation, commissioning, and programming of HVAC control equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repair of control system hardware and software.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control schematics.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems such as VAVs, rooftop units, fan coils, air handlers, chillers, and boilers.
- Software configuration including graphics, schedules, setpoints, trends, alarms, and logic sequences.
- Basic networking knowledge related to control systems and protocols.
- Use of test equipment for diagnostics and commissioning.
- Calibration and maintenance of field devices.
- HVAC technician certification or equivalent training is preferred.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in HVAC, controls, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
