Under general supervision, perform a variety of heat‑treating functions in altering the physical and mechanical properties of ferrous and nonferrous metals following established safety and operating in accordance with quality standards. Ensure that documentation and parts are correctly matched to paperwork. Make up heat‑treat loads,key following published procedures by placing items to be heated in rack or basket following detailed instructions on technique cards or other department paperwork while maintaining production requirements.

• Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment under general supervision.
• Must demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases.
• Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
• Works under general supervision and guidance following established company practices and process procedures.
• Completes worksheets from accompanying paperwork and/or main computer system documentation and specifications for required heat treating.
• Verifies proper function of furnace including temperature, time and ancillary equipment.
• May participate in scheduled survey of equipment function.
• May transport finished pieces to next operation station after paperwork is completed.
• Assists in preventative maintenance of furnaces and associated equipment.
• Reviews'idée own work for completeness and quality workmanship standards. Records and processes data on production document, on time, associated with the specified work performed.
• Possess basic understanding of instrumentation and controls.
• Maintain control of shop/lot integrity and met all production and quality standards.
