The Maintenance Mechanic is an employee who performs routine, general mechanical and maintenance assignments under direction and supervision.
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the safe maintenance, service and repair of the machinery and equipment located in the Plant. That responsibility will take the form of specific duties to be performed regularly at specific times, and other duties that may be assigned from time to time. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for recording activities and observations with respect to the condition of the machinery and equipment in the appropriate record keeper.
In addition, it is the responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic to assist the Operator in the performance of his/her job when there are equipment issues.
NOTE: Our factory operates 24/5 with occasional weekends. We usually hire for our 3rd Shift (9:30pm-6am); however, flexibility to work different shifts as well as some weekends is required.
Scope of ResponsibilitiesThis position, by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and regulatory codes and standards, is responsible for recommending, implementing and managing safety, quality and food safety on all product lines.
Specific Knowledge & Skills- Must be mechanically inclined, with a safety first mentality
- Must have a "Can Do Attitude" and be Self-starter as well as a team player
- Must be able to take direction as well as ownership of given tasks
- Must be able to have or obtain OSHA 10 hr. general industry certification
- Understand and follow oral and written instructionsli>
- Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
- Capable of following and reading an SOP, has basic knowledge of work order system
- Can trouble shoot basic manufacturing equipment.
- Possess basic knowledge of a risk assessment
- Possess basic knowledge on how to operate tools and machines in safe and efficient manner
- Able to make observations about workplace conditions.
- Able to make observations about current surroundings.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of facility repairs
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of electricity, i.e. residential wiring, proper PP
- Must have shift flexibility
- Balancing (own body)
- Stooping (bending from waist)
- Kneeling (one or both knees)
- Crouching (bending at knees)
- Lying down (on back, stomach, or side)
- Reaching (extending arm from shoulder, w/ or w/out bent elbow)
- Handling (using whole hand)

- Work in high places (ladders, roofs, painting, etc.)

- Near Acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less)
Pay: $39.31/hour, 3rd shift diff - $1.75/hour, 2nd shift diff - $0.65/hour
