WORK ENVIRONMENT: In performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, airborne particles, loud noises, and vibration. The Receiving Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the warehouse monitoring receiving activities and overseeing employee performances.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, use hands, reach, walk, and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift more than 70 pounds. Data entry is required frequently while standing and using a keyboard or calculator.
Job Summary:This position is primarily responsible for:
Assisting in supervising staff, including training and support.Scheduling truckers and vendors to meet shipping deadlines.Updating and maintaining reports as mandated.Supervises:
Warehouse, receiving, and loading staff.
General
Duties and Responsibilities:This is a full-time position requiring daily attendance during established office hours. Employees must clock in and out accordingly, including during meal periods. Punctuality is essential.Overtime may be required with prior approval.Maintain high-quality work output and customer service.Follow company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and Quality Management System.Recommend procedural improvements when necessary.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee proper receiving of shipments, documenting damages and shortages, and communicating issues.Ensure Tariff requirements are met during container loading.Review each container during loading to minimize claims.Recognize and load according to special instructions.Check for hazardous freight compatibility and record hazardous information.Update manifests and confirm completion.Conduct weekly safety meetings as backup.Maintain dock area and outside premises, including inspections.Assist with weekly loading reports and maintain container throughput goals.Ensure daily forklift inspections and proper equipment use.Walk the dock during heavy load days to oversee loading and staging.Operate Yard Goat for container positioning.Handle special projects like Green coffee fumigation for efficient loading.Authority:
Recommend procedural changes for process improvements.Authorize overtime with approval.Recommend repairs and improvements.Employment is at-will, and employment disputes are subject to arbitration per company policy.
