Radiologic Technologist / CT Tech
SLH Multiple Modality Radiologic Technologist
Base pay range: $66.47/hr – $83.96/hr
Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multiple Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/Imaging Services of Alameda Health System relating to general radiography and fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures.
Duties & Essential Job Functions- Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast)
- Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs
- Processes images as appropriate for modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications)
- Maintains adequate records of examinations, dose, and contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizes two patient identifiers with each patient exam
- Assists with movement of patients (rooming/transport)
- Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures
- May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school
- May assist in the training of students
- Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with designated areas or procedures as required
- Performs all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer
- Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies
- Ensures utilization of non-expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using “first in first out” rule for restocking
- Produces radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards
- Ensures utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) for radiation exposure
- Selects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology, or military equivalent - Preferred Education:
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree - Required Experience:
Proficient in a minimum of two modalities (X‑ray and fluoroscopy). All candidates must also have at least one additional modality (CT, MRI, mammography, venipuncture). For CT/MRI internal promotions, additional prerequisites apply; external hires must obtain certification within six months - Required
Licenses/Certifications: - Valid certificate as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public Health
- Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification, and other ARRT certifications relating to each modality where appropriate
- Valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
